ABOUT
OUR MISSION AND HISTORY
The Centre is the jewel in the crown of community centres in South East Kent. The building was opened in 1974 after several years of
fundraising by a dedicated number of villagers and village
organisations.
Its purpose was to give to the people of Birchington
a multi-purpose community hall, where various groups could meet. Over the years, The Centre has hosted some very special charity events to support our local community and bring the younger generations together, to create a better social etiquette using dance and performance arts.
We have over the years held many dance events, comedy nights, pantos and a number of other events; including holding numerous community meetings and also an Active Retirement Club.
